Some modern day classic Fords.
1988 Ford Fiesta 1.6 XR2
This is the one I want. A simple Ford Fiesta 1.3 Frascati 60bhp.
It’s simple yet elegant.
Lovely little run about.
1991 Ford Escort 1.6 cabrio.
2001 Ford Puma 1.7.

That is an awful use of the name. Such a shame.

Oooooooh ! Fiestas ........
As a kid I was dreaming of the XR2. As a young adult my first car was the 1.3l Fiesta like the purple in the picture, except mine was dark blue. Fantastic simple and unpretentious car, super reliable even for a stupid college kid like me ...
Thanks for this little moment of positive nostalgia !

In Oz, they get away with it because the original Puma never made it here. But yeah that new thing is a dull looking car... it'll probably sell as well as the Ecosport didn't.

No worries. I remember when a good friend first passed her driving licence and got her first car. It was a 3door 1.0 Popular Plus. It hated hills, on one long hill she nearly over took a car, but it ran out of power so the car under took us and she pulled back in mortified.
On another occasion, at 2:30am, she got a flat tyre on the other side of the city and didn’t know how to change the tyre or where it was. After trying to explain the spare tyre was underneath the boot and the jack and wheel brace were underneath the bonnet on the top right. I got dressed and walked across town to change the tyre.
The interesting thing I noticed was, her mother and mother’s partner each drove previous gen red Ford Escort 1.3 3 doors . She couldn’t find a red 1.3 3 door but the 1.0 blue Fiesta came up in her price range , licence plate H771JSW. The interesting thing was a week later a red 1.3 3 door Escort was seen on the road in the city, H770JSW. Bizarre.

Regrettably the Ecosport sells okay here, to the over 50s. Yuck.
